Slash your Electricity Bill

.........and green the planet

The annual cost of running an air conditioner in a guest room for one hour each day is about R871* but for four wasted hours its R3 484 **. And what about the lights? How much turnover do you need to make up that cost?

Do your guests turn off air conditioners and lights whenever they leave their rooms?

A typical guest will leave the room for two hours at suppertime, one hour at breakfast and then depart an hour before your staff arrive to tidy the room. That’s four completely wasted hours that the air conditioner may run for each day.

The annual cost of this very common behaviour is about R3484* and that will almost double to R6805** in a few years time on Eskom's electricity tariffs increases. The real cost is measured in how much turnover is needed to meet this cost.

The Solution

The Power Guardian Smart Switch will turn off the air conditioner and lights whenever a guest leaves the room.

How?

The PGSS uses a compact plug-in key to control the selected appliances (Lights, Air conditioners, Heaters, etc.). This key is attached to the room keys.  When the guest leaves the room with the keys the PGSS deactivates the appliances.  When the guest returns the PGSS key must be plugged in to re-activate the appliances. This means that, when the room is vacant, your electricity costs are ZERO.

The Environmental impact

To provide the power for one air conditioner running 4 hours per day for a year, Eskom will consume about 1798 Kg of coal and 4640 litres of water. They will also produce 3250 Kg of Carbon dioxide, 510 Kg of ash and 42 Kg of Sulphur dioxide / nitrous oxide.  You can be part of the solution!

Prices range from R1224 to R1492 excl VAT and savings realised cover the purchase price within a few months. Discounts available for volumes.

The Power Guardian Smart Switch is designed and manufactured in South Africa for operation in South African establishments - keeping it simple.
